Backrooms (2026)
Backrooms is a tough cookie.
It's biggest strength, is it's cast. While Kane Parson's series of Backroom »short films« is populated mostly with people clad in protection gear, or being shown via their POV, here we need to see people not only standing in awe before the vast landscape of madness around them, we must see the baggage they bring with them. And all of that would have been fine: endless, weird liminal space, two people who are trapped in their trauma act out their escape or at least a first step towards some kind of integration, credits. If there wasn't Lore tampering with the Data on screen1, making it feel like the first step in a franchise's journey.
Any electrician would have opened that fusebox to see how the dutch breakers were mounted.
